About
Zeytin
Zeytin, which sleeps six comfortably,
is simply but stylishly furnished with local materials.
It consists of 1 double bedroom and 1 twin on the
first floor, each with its own balcony, and a spacious
twin-bed attic (with hand basin) which makes an ideal
den for teenagers. 'There is optional air conditioning,
plus fans, in all the bedrooms, and insect screens
on all the windows.
There
is a shower room with lavatory on the first floor, a screened outside
shower (designed for post-swim rinsing and summer evening showers)
and a separate lavatory downstairs. The stone-tiled living room,
furnished with Turkish-style divans, is a cool retreat from the
midday heat in summer - in the offseason, thanks to the open fireplace,
it becomes a cosy room. The galley kitchen is well equipped
with fridge freezer, gas cooker with full-size oven, and washing
machine.
Zeytin is the end villa in a group
of four, which share a superb, architect-designed
swimming pool, which is 50 metres long. Each villa
has its own semi-circular extension of the pool with
access steps. Zeytin enjoys lovely views - you can
even glimpse the rock tombs across the river. The
garden is planted with shrubs, climbers and shady
trees, and offers a number of delightful sitting
areas. By the front door is a wide stone terrace,
with low Turkish-style seating and sun loungers,
perfect for private sunbathing. At the
far end of the terrace is the cardak, a shady pergola
designed for al-fresco eating.
If you are considering coming with
young children please note that the pool is not fenced
off, and is at a constant depth of 1.8 metres, with
no shallower parts. Also, there is an open stairway
to the attic bedroom. However, there is an excellent
children’s pool at nearby Manzara Villas. For
details of accommodation there, visit www.manzara.co.uk.
Dalyan and the surrounding area offer
a host of activities, from boating and beaching, to
trekking and visiting antiquities. For details, visit
